VSR-3 - Potter Vane-Type Waterflow Switch For 3" Pipe
USD 103.00 The Model VSR is a vane type waterflow switch for use on wet sprinkler systems. It is UL Listed and FM Approved for use on steel pipe; schedules 10 through 40, sizes 2" thru 8" (50 mm thru 200 mm). LPC approved sizes are 2" thru 8" (50 mm thru 200 mm). The VSR may also be used as a sectional waterflow detector on large systems. The VSR contains two single pole, double throw, snap action switches and an adjustable, instantly recycling pneumatic retard. The switches are actuated when a flow of 10 GPM (38 LPM) or more occurs downstream of the device. The flow condition must exist for a period of time necessary to overcome the selected retard period. The VSR switches and retard device are enclosed in a general purpose, die-cast housing. The cover is held in place with two tamper resistant screws which require a special key for removal. A field installable cover tamper switch is available as an option which may be used to indicate unauthorized removal of the cover.

NFPA 72 - In a dry pipe system, should the High/Low pressure be on supervisory or alarm?
Waterflow is on alarm and tamper switch is on supervisory.
I do not know the NFPA code at all. So you really need to read the code if you need the exact legal answer.
BUt I have a few thoughts beyond that.
How badly do you need to know if the system is inoperative ?
My guess would be that since tamper switch is supv, so would be pressure, alarm being reserved for those conditions where there is [probably] a fire [or at least a flood].
BUT, this says to me that perhaps "supervisory" should have more than a small light in a locked panel. Depending on the work done in the area covered, where there could be severe hazard to life if work went on if the system were inoperative [such as in a chemical plant], then it could be prudent to go beyond what the code requires as far as notification of personnel, and there perhaps should be procedures banning certain work or dictating certain actions if the "supervisory" conditions are signaled.
