I've heard of many parents these days using hidden cameras to spy on their nanny or babysitter. I'd like to know what the general opinion of Y!A users is.
From a parent's point of view, you're simply doing all you can to Protect Your children. From a babysitter's point of view, it can be quite insulting to discover you've been filmed.
Hello! I am currently a full time nanny and want to answer this question from the Nanny side of things!
I personally would be extremely uncomfortable working with a nanny-cam. A nanny is supposed to be a highly trained, capable, loving, certified, responsible person who is taking care of your children.. With that being said.. if I meet that criteria and am hired for a position I would expect my skills, personality and experience to be comforting enough to a parent to not want to spy on me.. I would feel extremely insulted to find a Nanny Cam, and would honestly quit the job immediately. I pride myself on being good at what I do and would find it very dishonest to find a Hidden Camera.. Also one of the most important aspects of a nanny-family relationship is trust.. If that isnt there then why hire the nanny?
also if you or anyone else is looking into doing this or has already done it.. It actually is illegal in some states, so check your state laws on hidden cameras..
